I would say it's an x-plane 11 issue some things don't work for example, the resolution settings, On my machine I can set up 2560x1440 @100Hz on x-plane 10, my monitor supports frequency High up to 165Hz, with GSYNC, and it works well, even if x-plane itself won't render frames @ this rate.
