WebJan 20, 2024 · The last few times I've run 5e, I've required the PCs to be a safe place to take a long rest this could be an Inn, or a Leomund's Tiny Hut, or a Guildhall. The last time I co-DMed a D&D game, the other DM used the Gritty Realism as written, and the players got really annoyed and tried to find ways to circumvent it.
